Problem : 1: Is there a way to modify this layout so that it's both centered and taking up most of my screen? Currently, it's all the way over to the left and taking up only about half my screen.

1. Well yes, but this layout is being ported to Dreamwidth soon (hopefully within the week since I submitted yesterday!) and the official version will stretch to fit your screen. So could you wait for that one to come out? (:
